Title: Hot Rods & Hot Trucks

Location: Madison Street and 2nd Ave. West, on Adams’s Super Service

Sponsor Adam Richardson Dimensions: 4’x8′ horizontal Aluminum composite metal panel as substrate for the completed art work. 27 student entrants to a design competition for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Honorable Mention awarded by Imagination Nation, Inc. Co-Sponsor. Center Panel area was completed by Airbrush Artist Craig Hough from Wabasha, MN.

Title: “The Circus Comes to Town”

    Location: Madison and 1st Ave.

Dimensions: 8’x16′ feet on four vertical 4’x8′ panels. School District of Durand                    

Students under the direction of Ann E. Oberding in 2011-2014 completed the interior border with their choice of “What is Circus”.  Center Panel area was completed by Airbrush Artist Craig Hough from Wabasha, MN.

              • Theme chosen as the first 4’x 8′ mural panel success story. MS/HS Art Instructor Megan Byron’s mural experience was instrumental in accomplishing this project piece with her students.

2012   Imagination Nation, Inc. Co-Sponsors with the City of Durand, WI an INTERIOR “Summer Arts Mural Project”

Title:

      • Location: Durand Fire Hall, 2nd Ave East on Madison Street.

A Student Teacher met her  job specifications  when she and her group of 5 students successfully completed a mural in the new fire station bay area.

 

2007   The completion of a four EXTERIOR mural representation titled              

A Portrait of a Community”.

A community-wide collaboration of muralist WD Hoeser and the Durand School District Art Department with assistance from the City of Durand and many volunteers.

Four designs telling a story about important elements  of our area, improving two unsightly walls.  

 

2002-2004  The EXTERIOR Diorama Project

Title: Portrait of Pepin County

Location: On the north facing wall of the pump house adjacent to the pool at Prospect St. and Lee St.  The two year project completed at Tarrant Park in Durand, WI with the cooperation of  several local dedicated people, is a testament to what people can do together to showcase their community.

 

1977-1979 an INTERIOR mural project,

Title:  “The Prindle Room”

Location: In a downstairs alcove in the Waumandee State Bank in downtown Durand. At Madison and 3rd Ave West.

Painted to preserve the memory of the original building the Prindle Inn. (formerly on the site of the bank) utilizing a trompe-l’oeil or fool-the-eye technique style of painting. David Constantine assisting.
